Germantown Psychological Associates, P.C. has been serving the community for over thirty-five years, providing the highest quality of care for children, adolescents, adults and families. Germantown Psychological Associates, P.C. was started in 1985 by two psychologists from East Memphis Psychological Associates. A third psychologist from EMPA joined the practice when we moved to our current location at 7516 Enterprise Avenue, Suite 1, Germantown, TN. Through the years, our clinical staff has grown from the original three psychologists to five Ph.D. licensed psychologists and one licensed clinical social worker. We also have a medical consultant who has worked with our staff over the last two decades, both in-hospital and outpatient. Our clinical staff has experience in a variety of settings, to include: inpatient hospitals [medical, mental health, substance abuse], intensive outpatient programs for substance abuse, child abuse clinics, schools, military psychological services, residential treatment, day treatment, consulting, and outpatient practice. The rest of our team is made up of a dedicated staff who are essential to our daily functioning by managing our scheduling, records, billing, intake coordination, insurance issues, and other administrative functions.
It has been the mission of the GPA, PC Team to provide the highest quality of care to all those who come to us for assistance. The individuals coming to see us desire to work and change in a number of areas: emotional, psychological, behavioral, spiritual and cognitive. As part of our ongoing focus on constantly improving our quality of care, all our clinicians participate on a regular basis in continuing education in a variety of areas as well as their specific specialties. Through the years of growth, we have made a concerted effort to develop a well-diversified practice in order to provide a variety of services. We have clinicians skilled and experienced in many different areas: child, adolescent, adult, family, learning disabilities, teaching, neuropsychological issues, trauma, substance use/abuse, testing/assessment, stress management, social skills training, parenting, anger management, legal consultation, forensic evaluations, and many more. In the event that one of our professionals (or anyone else within the practice) is not able to provide what an individual or family needs, we maintain a network of professional relationships which would provide an appropriate referral. This includes not only other psychologists [both inside or outside of our practice], but also pediatricians, neurologists, internal medicine doctors, psychiatrists, speech therapists, tutors, occupational therapists, physical therapists, other physicians, and other professionals. We work closely with referring physicians (e.g., pediatricians, neurologists, family practice, internal medicine, and geriatricians) and schools regarding evaluation results and provide ongoing follow-up with respect to management and program development (e.g., academic modifications such as IEPs, tutoring, referrals for specific therapies, and vocational consultation regarding necessary therapies and work place accommodations).
In addition to providing ongoing therapy and assessment for our patients, our clinicians are active members in the community and many provide talks and presentations at schools, organizations, workshops, and conferences.
